European & International Business Management

Who is the Master’s aimed at?

Students´ opinion

Ana Virginia Flores Morales

The whole experience of studying the Master in “European and International Business Management” was for me the best I had lived so far. It was the first time for me to live abroad and visit Europe. Besides the experience of setting up a European contact network, the Master itself was also a great opportunity to witness how a European education system works and how different it is from Mexico. Without any doubts I would recommend this experience to other fellow colleagues and compatriots. It would create a much more cultivated society in terms of globalisation.

Another positive experience from the Master was to work with multicultural teams. Perhaps in Europe it is common to work with different nationalities because of its geographical location but I found it amazing to have this opportunity and exploit the advantage of receiving feedback from different perspectives. Moreover, the use of several languages was something that charmed me from the beginning. This was also another aspect that made me realise the level of competition that the European market breathes.

Regarding my internship at Toyota, I truly consider myself having found the vacancy at the right time and place. I had a really great team that looked over me and was keen in showing me as much as possible. I am truly grateful for all the help and support that I received from them. I enjoyed the multicultural teams and the empowerment given to me from the start. I was in charge of several projects and was able to demonstrate my potential and offer my added value. I was satisfied with my development during my internship. Toyota was a great company to work at and without any doubts I would gladly work again with them.

"This programme has been very positive for me personally because I got to know people of other nationalities, from other cultures, and I learned to adjust to change. I think I stand out on the job market, thanks to my improved CV and cross cultural training, which means I am comfortable working at the international level.

A highly qualified teaching faculty, who are very approachable, top notch business schools (Audencia-Nantes, Deusto Business School and Bradford University) and excellent facilities make this a great programme.

Since I finished the Master's, I have worked in business strategy and I now have a position which involves hiring financial risk and management consultancy services for my department. I have kept in touch with quite a few of my classmates and we try to get together at least once a year".

Why did you go for this Master?

I wanted to gain a Masters qualification in Business and in so doing improve my career prospects. The EIBM gave me the geographic flexibility I was looking for whilst providing me with a trilingual Masters which would allow me to differentiate myself in an increasingly competitive job market.

What did the participation in this Master mean for you?

It meant embarking on an intellectual journey of discovery alongside young ambitious individuals with a thirst for adventure and self improvement.

How is EIBM improving your employment expectations about new roles, new functions, new firms or organizations…?

If anything the EIBM programme has allowed us to gain a greater appreciation for multinational firms and their associated corporate cultures along with the type of jobs that are available. Moreover, the programme has made me more aware of my own strengths and weaknesses and given me greater clarity in terms of what kinds of companies and functions best correspond to my own skill sets. This is very important moving forward in determining which career path I am interested in pursuing.

"Master’s experience was very enriching"

Sergio Camarero

Owner of a company in Hong Kong

"Camarero Blanco studied Psychology and went on to complete the Master’s degree in European and International Business Management. When he finished the Master’s, he did an internship with Leadership Developer at Arcelor Mittal (France) where they offered him a contract as Change Leader directing cross-cutting continuous improvement projects with over 1,000 people involved.

After a year in the position, he decided to embark on a business venture. He explained, “Thanks to what I learned in the Master's, which has stood me in good stead, I now own a company in Hong Kong and am co-owner of another. I lead a 14-person team at 3 different offices".

He commented that the “Master’s experience was very enriching" for several reasons: the knowledge of business that he acquired was totally applicable; he formed a contact network, learned French, improved his CV, achieved an international and macroeconomic vision and developed a great capacity to adapt to change."
