International Business

Introduction

Crossing borders

 Professionals for the global enterprise

Many companies are currently facing the need to go beyond the borders of their own country to achieve a presence abroad. The reasons for this are multiple: the search for cost savings, new sources of supply, diversification of its customer markets, growth, and the development of their potential. The formulas chosen to implement this geographic diversification are also multiple: internal development in order to reach new environments, inorganic growth via policies of acquisition, alliances and agreements in the targeted countries, etc.

In any event, global companies face very unique challenges in terms of their management needs. The complexity and diversity of the social, cultural, economic and legal conditions encountered in distinct countries and environments, and the management difficulties for gaining a global perspective with so many operational sub-divisions involved (finances, marketing, HR, logistics, etc), means that international companies need to have professionals with extremely specific skills.
