Quality Management

Quality Management System (QMS) at Deusto Business School Executive Education

DBS Executive Education programmes belong to the Deusto Business School Faculty, and the implementation of its Quality Management System (QMS) is certified by the AUDIT guidelines. The QMS is a useful tool that helps us to systematise continuous improvement processes in our Executive Education programmes. It provides us with the relevant information, it offers us scenarios for reflection and it also allows us to stablish qualitative analysis as significant and distinctive value towards the enhancement of our Executive Education programmes.

Faculty Objectives

The Deusto Business School Strategic Plan defined for the 2020/2025 period has been formulated taking into account several references: the Strategic Plan of the previous Faculty; the University's Strategic Plan 2022, the United Nations Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals. The assessments of all the stakeholders involved have also been considered. For the 2020/2021 academic year, four projects have beenset: the implementation of AMBA international accreditation, the promotion and internationalisation of student associations, review of the postgraduate portfolio and open Executive Education programmes and improvement of internal and external communication. These projects make up DBS’ three cornerstones: excellence in lifelong learning; humanist leadership for transformation; and connection and commitment to the business, social and institutional contexts.

To achieve a more effective and efficient management of our QMS, our Executive Education programmes are evaluated through the application of our Continuous Improvement Processes. Such processes detect the potential weaknesses and the causes, and in response, we define and implement the necessary improvement action plans, we assign the actors responsible for developing them and the deadlines for their completion. These improvement action plans are examined by our Executive Education Programmes’ Directors to verify their effectiveness.

Additionally, Deusto Business School is a member of AACSB - Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB is one of the main international quality standards for business schools with more than 800 accredited schools worldwide. Deusto Business School is part of this educational movement aimed at improving the quality of executive education.

By complying with the AACSB’s quality standards, Deusto Business School ensures the continuous improvement of its processes and its commitment to faculty, participants, the business world and the institutions. In this way, our executive education performs a positive impact on the society, contributing to the improvement of results and playing a relevant role in benefit of all the stakeholders.

Based on these premises, as a rule, our quality standard to measure the stakeholders’ satisfaction with the Deusto Business School Executive Education programmes should always remain well above 4 out of 5.
