International experience

International mobility

The international Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration is an eye-opener. All fourth year students are afforded the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of the more than 70 universities in Europe, America and the Asia-Pacific Region, where we have partner higher education institutions.

The experience of living and studying in a foreign country not only helps to learn about other customs, but also to…

  • Know other culture and learn to work in these environments
  • Strengthen social skills in relationships
  • Improve your foreign language skills
  • Learn to be flexible and the importance of knowing how to adapt to new situations

International Solidarity Internship Programme

Deusto Business School, in its commitment to integrate professional training and human values education, has launched a new programme that allows undergraduate and double degree students to undertake professional internships in organisations that support various economic-productive and social projects in Latin America and India. These internships are curricular and therefore, they have an academic workload of between 6 ECTS and 12 ECTS, depending on each degree.

  • The aim? Offer a transformative human and professional experience to our students, while contributing to promoting small projects with their knowledge and skills, which will eventually allow the transformation of the most vulnerable and impoverished families and communities in the South.
  • Where? Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, India… New projects with different organisations located in developing countries emerge every year.
  • When? In the summer of 3rd year of study (Bachelor’s degree) or the summer of 4th year (double degree). Internships run from 6 to 8 weeks. In addition, the programme requires previous training by Alboan and subsequent assessment.

Both the programme and the steps to follow to be eligible for one of the available places will be presented to students in class.

The news about the International Solidarity Internships was a big surprise for me: a professional alternative that I finally felt suited me best. The experience did not disappoint me, and allowed me to see first-hand how it is possible to apply managerial, strategic and leadership skills aimed at local development and empowerment in Ahmedabad (India). My work at HDRC (Human Development and Research Center) was based on conducting a research study on how economic organisations promote leadership and entrepreneurship among women members in rural areas of India. The truth is that, although at the beginning I had my doubts, it was really rewarding to analyse business management from a social approach and now I want to continue training in this area with a more active and dynamic role.
