MBI- Master in Business Innovation

Structure and Content

Group Innovation Project (5 ECTS)

Deusto Business School, and in this case in particular, the MBI, looks to work jointly with companies, programme participants and the School through the firm-participant contract. This agreement enables MBI participants to choose a specific group project on innovation or intrapreneurship.

Firms can therefore take full advantage of the knowledge and skills that candidates acquire during the programme from the very beginning. There is a wide variety of themes to choose from:

1. Innovation

Firms and participants reach mutual agreement by identifying an aspect of the firm that needs innovation to improve, where the participant will work on applying knowledge acquired during the programme. Participants will be assisted by practising professionals and tutors as they manage the project which will also be monitored by the firm.
Outcome: recommendations for the firm to innovate in the area that has been identified.

2. Intrapreneurship

Either within the firm (intrapreneurial) or as an external project (entrepreneurial), each participant must identify a business opportunity, develop it and build up a feasible business.
Outcome: a business plan is submitted to the firm or a group of experts.

Teams composed of 4 participants will develop a project throughout the program in applying the knowledge acquired in the face to face modules, focusing in one of the following areas:

  • Strategic Innovation
  • New products or services
  • Design of business models
  • Management of the innovation process
  • Identification of opportunities for innovation
  • Development and validation of innovation projects in the company
